We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Engineer who will serve as a technical cornerstone for our infrastructure operations. This individual will combine deep Linux expertise with strategic thinking to enhance our operational capabilities, deliver exceptional customer solutions, and drive innovation across virtualization, monitoring, and system integration platforms. You can expect to spend your time accomplishing the following: 30% of the time on Objective 1: Monitoring Systems 20% of the time on Objective 2: CloudStack Administration & Architecture 20% of the time on Objective 3: Customer-Facing Linux Systems Projects 20% of the time on Objective 4: KVM Virtualization Management & Optimization 10% of the time on Objective 5: Internal Linux Support & Operational Reporting Job Responsibilities - What to Expect Design, implement, and maintain KVM virtualization environments for optimal performance and resource utilization Architect and manage CloudStack deployments ensuring scalability, reliability, and multi-tenant functionality Deploy and configure comprehensive monitoring solutions using Zabbix and LogicMonitor platforms Integrate and optimize Network Management Systems (NMS) for unified operational visibility Lead customer-facing Linux systems projects from requirements gathering through delivery Provide expert-level internal Linux support across all enterprise distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) Implement infrastructure-as-code principles using configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) Establish and maintain security hardening standards across all Linux environments Develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Perl for system administration tasks Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Linux systems with development pipelines Mentor junior engineers and create technical documentation for knowledge transfer Troubleshoot complex system issues and implement proactive solutions to prevent recurrence Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing infrastructure Your Knowledge & Expertise Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience 5+ years of advanced Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments Certifications Preferred: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent Linux certifications Preferred CompTIA Linux+ or LPIC-2 certification VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent virtualization certification Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) Proficiency with KVM virtualization technologies and management Hands-on experience with CloudStack administration and cloud orchestration Strong background in Network Management Systems (NMS) integration and configuration Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef) Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Tofu) Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Proven experience with Zabbix and LogicMonitor monitoring platforms Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, and firewall configuration Linux security hardening and compliance framework implementation experience Customer-facing project delivery experience with strong communication skills Seniority level
