A stealth-stage startup building foundational infrastructure for the AI era is seeking a
Founding Engineer
to help architect and scale a
usage-based billing and identity platform
tailored to AI-powered applications. This is a rare opportunity to join early, drive key technical decisions, and shape the direction of a highly technical product from the ground up. What You’ll Do Design and build backend-heavy components of the billing and identity platform Develop metering, access, and pricing systems at scale Work cross-functionally with product and design to deliver quickly and iteratively Establish and uphold best practices in engineering and security Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers as the team grows Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot performance-critical systems Contribute across the stack (frontend/backend), with emphasis on backend reliability and extensibility Other Tools/Systems:
Rust, C++ Who You Are Strong backend engineering experience, especially in billing, APIs, or infrastructure Comfortable working with modern cloud platforms and scalable systems Skilled problem solver with a product mindset and attention to detail Previous experience in early-stage startups or high-ownership environments is a plus Familiar with security best practices and data protection standards Great communicator and team player Experience with AI or data-intensive applications is a bonus Work Arrangement Initial 3 months: Fully on-site in Denver for deep collaboration and team formation Post-3 months: Flexible hybrid arrangement (partially remote with regular in-person work) Must be authorized to work in the U.S. This company is not able to sponsor visas at this time Seniority level
