The Advancement Office engages alumni (~220k), current students, parents and friends of the University through intellectual, professional and social activities on campus, around the world and online. Advancement raises $600 Million annually to support faculty and researchers, practitioners and patients, and students and programs across the University. The Advancement People and Culture team plays a crucial role in cultivating a supportive and thriving workplace environment. Job Summary
This role provides professional support and solves straightforward problems in the design and delivery of training offerings for all employees. Develops and implements a strategy for targeted market training courses and evaluates the efficacy of current programs. Coordinates in-person and web-based trainings and provides necessary materials and instruction to those individual trainers.
Responsibilities
Designs, delivers, and evaluates training and development programs that enhance the performance, skills, and professional growth of Advancement staff. Develops and facilitates engaging in-person, virtual, and hybrid training sessions for staff. Maintains a thorough knowledge of instructional design research, principles, and emerging applications of instructional design theories and instructional technology applications. Maintains professional expertise in online teaching and learning, electronic pedagogy, and technology-based course delivery, including learning management systems (LMS), multimedia and instructional course software, adaptive learning tools, multimedia presentation, web conferencing, and classroom technologies. Investigates innovative uses of technology in teaching and learning to promote the use of specialized applications, equipment, and services, including face-to-face interaction as well as group, seminar, and online interaction. Provides assistance and collaborates with subject matter experts on the pedagogical design and development of curriculum content by identifying existing content and developing a strategy to convert it into an online or blended format. Partners with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs. Creates training storyboards, coordinates/creates training video, or assist/write scenarios as subject matter experts navigate and implement new learning activities. Comfortable giving staff feedback related to these items, as necessary. Oversees training enrollment and attendance tracking. Measures training effectiveness through performance, metrics, surveys, and feedback loops, tracking and analyzing skill development for ARD staff. Identifies existing training content, converts it into an e-learning environment, then creates user support materials. Monitors and analyzes trends, identifies opportunities, and explores innovative approaches to teaching and learning problems. Seeks opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance including attending webinars, seminars, building networks with the University and with colleagues at peer institutions. Administers front-end needs assessments, identifying key learning outcomes, writing training objectives, applying and modifying various instructional design methods, designing practice activities and scenarios, sequencing instructional content, and writing tests and learning assessments. Defines new content for and updates to online manuals and user reference documentation. Performs other related work as needed.
Education:
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of professional work experience in an instructional design/development position or relevant field. Familiarity with adult learning theories and principles to apply this knowledge. Previous experience writing and developing instructional materials. Proficient delivering training. Previous experience with e-learning platforms.
Technical Skills Or Knowledge:
Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the University as well as the technology tools available to the Office of Advancement, including Phoenix, the University's Donor Relationship Management System), Salesforce (the University's future relationship management system), and Zoom. Proficient in Microsoft Windows computer environment, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Background with Salesforce a plus. Working knowledge of databases.

This position has a hybrid work schedule which includes weekly in office presence. Standard office environment. Travel to campus and/or non-campus locations for University business. Work evenings and weekends as needed. This position is located in Hyde Park at 5235 South Harper Court.
