The Vice President – Manufacturing is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations and customer service functions. This individual will drive strategic alignment between production capabilities and customer expectations, ensuring a seamless customer experience from order to delivery. The VP will provide visionary leadership to multi-site manufacturing teams and customer service professionals, championing operational excellence, customer satisfaction, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of balancing efficiency, quality, responsiveness, and innovation across both operational and customer-facing domains. CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Tasks: Strategic Leadership & Vision: Develop and execute an integrated strategy for manufacturing and customer service that supports corporate goals, enhances customer satisfaction, and drives profitability. Formulate and implement a cohesive manufacturing and operations strategy that aligns with overall business goals across all sites. Leverage data to identify opportunities for growth, cost reduction, and competitiveness. Establish Data-Driven Culture: Champion a culture where data is the foundation for decision-making. This involves providing access to relevant data and encouraging teams to seek data-backed solutions. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across production and service teams. KPIs must be quantifiable and tied to strategic objectives (e.g., capacity utilization, on-time delivery, cost per unit, safety incident rate, inventory turns, customer satisfaction, customer returns). Create and implement standard scorecards used across all facilities. Utilize data to identify and mitigate operational risks across all facilities, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and safety hazards. Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Multi-Site Operational Management: Standardization & Best Practices: Develop and implement standardized processes, procedures, and best practices across all manufacturing locations to ensure consistency in quality, efficiency, and safety. Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Continuously monitor the performance of each facility against established KPIs. Analyze data trends to identify areas of underperformance, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Resource Allocation: Optimize the allocation of resources (personnel, equipment, budget) across multiple sites based on data-driven insights into production needs, capacity, and efficiency. Inter-Site Collaboration: Foster strong communication and collaboration between site leaders and their teams to share knowledge, troubleshoot issues, and leverage collective expertise. Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned departments, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Process Improvements: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve quality, and increase throughput. Asset Optimization: Optimize Equipment Reliability & Uptime: Implement and continuously refine predictive and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime, reduce emergency repairs, and extend the lifespan of critical assets, directly impacting operational efficiency and cost savings. Life Cycle Management & Capital Planning: Develop and execute an equipment life cycle management strategy, encompassing acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and disposal, to ensure optimal asset performance, facilitate timely upgrades, and inform accurate capital expenditure planning aligned with long-term business objectives. New Equipment Recommendations: Lead the evaluation and recommendation of new equipment and technology investments, performing ROI analyses and considering factors like automation, energy efficiency, safety, and scalability, to improve productivity, and reduce operational costs. Quality Assurance: Ensure robust quality management systems are in place and consistently applied across all facilities, using data to track quality metrics, identify defects, and implement corrective actions. Cost Management: Drive cost reduction initiatives by analyzing operational expenses, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions backed by financial and operational data. Safety & Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations across all sites. ERP System Ownership: Lead the implementation, continuous improvement, and optimization of the company’s ERP system across all manufacturing sites. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accuracy, reliability, and functionality in alignment with operational needs. ERP Maintenance & Upgrades: Partner with IT and functional leads to manage system updates, enhancements, and user training. Monitor system performance, data integrity, and process alignment to support business goals. Customer Service Leadership: Provide strategic oversight of customer service operations to ensure timely, accurate, and professional resolution of customer inquiries, complaints, and orders. Drive improvements in customer satisfaction and loyalty by analyzing service metrics and customer feedback. Team Leadership and Development: Talent Management: Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing manufacturing, operations and customer service teams. Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports, using data to objectively assess individual and team contributions. Empowerment and Accountability: Empower site leaders to make data-driven decisions and hold them accountable for achieving their operational goals. Change Management: Lead and manage organizational change initiatives related to operational improvements, new technologies, or process changes, ensuring buy-in and adoption across all locations. ERP & Data Training: Champion organizational adoption of the ERP system by ensuring adequate training and support for plant managers and key operations personnel. Promote data literacy to enhance the use of ERP tools for decision-making and performance management. Relationship Management: Serve as a key liaison between production, customer service, sales, and executive leadership. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and vendors. Represent the company at industry events and conferences. Negotiate and manage contracts and agreements. All other duties as needed and assigned QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible operations management experience, demonstrating strong decision-making abilities, sound judgement, and the ability to manage change effectively, navigate complex organizational dynamics, and inspire teams to achieve exceptional performance. Must possess and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on data-driven sights to solve problems and to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements. Must possess exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and deliver results under pressure. Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess reporting skills and have meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Excel. Possession of a bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field is required. MBA preferred. Travel up to 60% is required for this position.
