Senior Robotics C++ Software Engineer

Our client is developing a next?generation, AI?driven, image?guided robotic system designed to enhance the precision, dexterity, and outcomes of ophthalmic and microsurgical procedures. Responsibilities Architect and implement real?time motion control software using modern C++ (C++11 and above) Support systems with EtherCAT servo drives, safety redundancy, and fail?safe diagnostics Debug hardware interactions, Linux kernel latency, and real?time performance issues Collaborate across disciplines to bring up new peripherals and ensure robust, safe operation Conduct rigorous software testing with both hardware and simulation environments

What Youll Bring

Education & Experience Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field 5+ years of experience developing software in modern C++ 5+ years deploying and testing in Linux environments

Technical Expertise

Deep understanding of deterministic control systems and cascaded loop optimization Strong skills in Linux systems programming (pthreads, shared memory, pipes, etc.) Experience with ROS 2, gRPC, or similar asynchronous IPC frameworks Proficiency in debugging and performance profiling using gdb or equivalent tools Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) is advantageous Bonus: background in kinematics, motion planning, or embedded C/C++
