About the Role As a Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one‑on‑one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

In‑Person Tutoring in Temecula, CA
Schedule: Flexible, 4‑5 sessions per week
Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Focus Area: Math, Writing, 7th Grade Science
Ideal Candidate
Experienced in working with students with Down syndrome, apraxia, and/or dyslexia.
Knowledgeable in evidence‑based reading instruction (e.g., Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, or similar methods).
Skilled at managing defiant or resistant behaviors with calm, consistency, and compassion.
Creative and patient, able to incorporate movement and student interests into learning.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct an academic assessment to determine current skill levels and inform instructional planning.
Deliver individualized instruction in foundational reading, writing, and math skills.
Provide targeted support in reading fluency, comprehension, and phonemic awareness.
Implement multisensory and structured literacy approaches tailored to the student’s learning profile.
Maintain positive behavior strategies and use effective methods to address defiance or frustration when they arise.
Collaborate with caregivers and, if applicable, school or therapy teams to ensure consistency with IEP goals.
Track and report academic progress regularly.
