Client Overview Vernovis is partnering with an

industry leader in material handling and warehouse automation

dedicated to transforming the way intelligent, data-driven systems power logistics and supply chain operations. This organization is known for pioneering advancements in robotics, AI integration, and automation software that deliver exceptional operational efficiency and system reliability.

What You’ll Do

Define the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise software solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Lead, mentor, and scale a multidisciplinary software organization encompassing architecture, development, QA, DevOps, and implementation teams.

Oversee the design and delivery of high-performance, real-time software that integrates PLCs, robotics, AS/RS, conveyors, and other automation systems.

Drive innovation through modular, cloud-native software design and intelligent control algorithms that support Industry 4.0 initiatives, IoT, and AI-driven decision systems.

Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration and operational efficiency.

Establish best practices and enforce software development processes including automated testing, CI/CD, and model validation.

Partner with Product Management and Operations to align technical capabilities with customer needs and deployment strategies.

Manage project lifecycles, resource allocation, vendor relationships, and software budgets while maintaining a strong focus on quality, cost, and delivery.

Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and responsible AI development within the engineering organization.

What Experience You’ll Have

Demonstrated success leading large-scale software development initiatives within automation, robotics, or industrial control environments.

Expertise in cloud-native software architecture, distributed systems, real-time control, and AI/ML applications.

Deep knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), SCADA/HMI platforms, and Warehouse Control/Execution Systems (WCS/WES).

Proficiency in Agile/Scrum, DevOps, MLOps, and CI/CD methodologies supporting modern, data-driven software delivery.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technology into actionable business outcomes.

Nice to Have

Experience with robotics integration, computer vision, or autonomous systems in logistics or manufacturing environments.

Patent, publication, or IP contributions in AI, automation, or cloud-native controls systems.

Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field required.

15+ years of experience in software engineering, controls, or automation, including 7+ years in senior leadership.
