Location:

Role The Reliability Engineer will be a critical contributor in Beam Suntory's global growth agenda with continued improvements in engineering, asset care, and production expansion. You will also have an opportunity to become a key leader of Beam Suntory's North American engineering and asset care improvements. There will also be cross‑functional aspects of the role that will provide holistic exposure and experience in bourbon making, from distillation, maturation through to barrel finishing and processing.

Role Responsibilities

Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations, adhering to life‑cycle cost processes.

Lead root‑cause analysis (RCA) and reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) to identify and resolve recurring equipment failures.

Develop and implement new assets, preventive maintenance plans, job tasks, and spare‑parts lists to optimize asset utilization and performance.

Utilize advanced Six Sigma tools (DMAIC), Value Stream Mapping, and Process FMEA to drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Assist in training staff to develop their expertise in reliability engineering and maintenance practices.

Work with engineers and equipment manufacturers to ensure initial design and redesign of machinery with a focus on a reliability mindset.

Assist in development of SOPs and train maintenance and operators on SOPs.

Pursue professional development through seminars, conferences, and formal training.

Provide back‑fill coverage for management relief in Maintenance.

Provide technical support to production, maintenance management, and engineering personnel.

Focus on safety audits and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Reliability Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Five years of experience in reliability engineering, project engineering, or maintenance supervision, preferably in the food processing or chemical industry.

Mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Supervisor or manager experience in a skilled trade.

Strong critical‑thinking skills with the ability to read and produce flow diagrams and P&IDs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and under pressure, managing multiple priorities.

Willingness to work in a unionized environment and adapt to varying physical demands.

Additional Qualifications

Valid driver’s license for traveling to remote plants.

Ability to climb ladders and walk up and down stairs.

Ability to walk moderate distances – up to one mile.

Ability to tolerate extreme heat and cold for short periods of time.

Adequate vision to take field measurements, use computers, and read drawings and maps.

Ability to remain on site for extended periods when required.

Proficiency in reading and writing English as it pertains to job duties.
