The Legal Assistant Journeyman will provide comprehensive legislative and legal research support to an Intelligence Community (IC) customer, directly enabling compliance with statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements in a classified environment. This role supports directorates, components, and offices, contributing to the preparation, coordination, and management of legal materials, policy coordination, and correspondence tracking. The Legal Assistant ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of deliverables in support of government attorneys, senior staff, and oversight bodies. This contract is pending award. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have an Active TS / SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough legal, legislative, and policy research in support of customer legal teams and senior leadership, including analysis of statutory requirements, congressional actions, and regulatory directives
Prepare, edit, and track formal correspondence, legal memoranda, policy summaries, and briefing materials relevant to congressional, regulatory, and compliance activities
Coordinate the management of classified and unclassified case files and legal documents, ensuring all materials are handled and stored in accordance with applicable Government and IC standards
Support the drafting of executive briefings, legal and policy summaries, reports to oversight bodies, and official communications
Track legislative and legal developments, monitor deliverable timelines, and maintain organized records to ensure compliance and support informed Government decision-making
Liaise with internal offices, interagency partners, and external counterparts to ensure document consistency, information accuracy, and effective communications
Assist with case file management, discovery efforts, FOIA requests, and ensure materials are readily available for reference and compliant with all recordkeeping requirements
Identify process improvement opportunities within legal support functions and assist in the implementation of operational and workflow efficiencies
Support logistical and administrative needs related to legal briefings, hearings, and meetings, including agenda preparation, materials distribution, and follow-up documentation
Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality across all assigned responsibilities
