Project Manager, Custom Architectural Millwork Looking for someone with extensive custom Architectural Millwork experience.
This role will be a full-time independent contractor position (1099), primarily based in Las Vegas, NV. 1099 Contractor status requires Business License and proof of Business Liability Insurance ($2M).

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced
Project Manager
to lead and coordinate large‑scale, high‑end architectural millwork (wood) projects. This dual role combines the strategic oversight of a Project Manager with the on‑site leadership of a Site Superintendent, ensuring both planning and execution are seamlessly aligned. Responsibilities include full‑cycle project management, close coordination with trades on‑site and departments within our manufacturing facility, and active collaboration with the internal project team, subcontractors, and clients. Acting as the primary point of contact for both clients and general contractors, this position addresses design, quality, scheduling, and site‑related matters to deliver projects smoothly from start to finish—maintaining alignment between client expectations and company deliverables at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary liaison between clients, general contractors, architects, installers, sub‑trades, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
Lead planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination efforts for all project phases, ensuring alignment between office planning and on‑site execution
Supervise on‑site installation of millwork, ensuring design compliance, quality standards, and safety protocols are met
Coordinate closely with Business Development, Engineering, Programming, Production, and site teams to ensure efficiency, profitability, and seamless integration of millwork with other trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, flooring)
Oversee sample submittals, approvals, and maintain sample registries
Review and track shop drawings; maintain drawing logs and communicate updates to clients, production, and site teams
Manage materials and logistics, including site dimensions, requisitioning supplies, and ensuring timely delivery of resources
Resolve design, installation, quality workmanship and scheduling issues promptly to keep projects on track
Initiate and monitor Requests for Information (RFIs) and coordinate responses to keep work progressing without delays
Conduct regular site visits for measurement verification, coordination, quality control, and safety inspections
Track and manage project changes; collaborate with Estimating to issue change orders within required timelines and obtain written approvals before proceeding
Maintain accurate project documentation including drawings, change logs, quality control records, closeout materials, as‑built drawings, and warranty packages
Collaborate with Accounting to ensure timely invoicing, monitor receivables, and resolve billing issues
Complete deficiency lists, secure client signoffs, and ensure smooth project closeout
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in workflow, productivity, and quality at both the planning and execution stages
Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful project completion
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience in Project Management within architectural millwork, custom fabrication, or related industries
Minimum 3+ years of site/installation supervision experience in commercial construction
Strong knowledge of AWMAC/AWI and millwork project workflows from design to installation, and understanding of construction processes
Educational and experience requirements include a construction or architectural technology related degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience within the commercial sector
Skills and Knowledge
Strong team management skills
Proven ability to manage complex, high‑end commercial or residential projects
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Capacity to train and instruct workers on job duties and safety protocols
Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives
Ability to multi‑task and control multiple activities on site occurring simultaneously
Proficient in project documentation, budgeting, and scheduling software
