Job Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Tax Accountant for a large logistics company local to Charlotte, NC. This individual is responsible for preparing transactional tax returns (sales, and use, annual reports / licenses, and tax regulations). They will be assisting the Manager, the Senior Director, the Director with other federal and state tax filings, as necessary. This is a hybrid position, reporting onsite in Charlotte, NC 3x / week.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare all monthly / quarterly / annual sales / use tax returns and associated journal entries / accounting
Prepare Canadian GST / HST / PST / QST returns and associated journal entries / accounting
Research sales / use tax issues and questions.
Reconcile all sales / use tax accounts monthly
Assist with the preparation of state income tax returns, state apportionment schedules, calculation of estimated payments, and related accounting
Prepare Abandoned and Unclaimed property filings
Prepare various railroad / payroll related returns (Federal Forms CT-1, 945A, DC-1, etc)

Required Skills & Experience Must Haves
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Knowledge of Excel and strong systems aptitude
0-2+ years of tax experience in either public accounting or a corporate tax department
Nice to Have Skills & Experience Preferred Qualifications
CPA, MSA, or MST completed or in process
Oracle Cloud, Vertex, and Corptax experience
