We are a growing general contracting and development company specializing in residential and commercial construction projects including new builds, remodels, tenant improvements, and specialty structures. We’re committed to quality craftsmanship, integrity, and building long‑term relationships with our clients. We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator who can accurately prepare detailed cost estimates, manage bid proposals, and support pre‑construction planning.
Position Overview The Construction Estimator is responsible for analyzing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate and competitive estimates. This role will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to prepare proposals and budgets that align with the company’s financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
Review architectural, structural, and engineering plans to prepare detailed quantity takeoffs
Develop material, labor, and equipment estimates using CSI divisions
Issue RFQs/RFPs and gather subcontractor/vendor quotes
Build project budgets and proposals for lump sum, GMP, or cost‑plus contracts
Analyze scopes and identify value engineering opportunities
Prepare bid packages, scopes of work, and estimate summaries
Coordinate pre‑construction timelines and deliverables
Maintain subcontractor and supplier database
Participate in client meetings, bid reviews, and handoffs to project management
Evaluate change orders and provide pricing support
Ensure estimates comply with local codes, permitting, and industry standards
Track historical cost data to refine future estimating strategies
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator (residential or commercial)
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing
Proficient in reading blueprints and technical construction documents
Experience with estimating software (ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Buildertrend, or similar)
Understanding of CSI MasterFormat and cost coding
Excellent math, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and project management tools
