Responsibilities Research Support: Works under the direction of the Supervisor or higher-level laboratory personnel. Uses limited discretion and judgment in processing clinical research blood and tissue specimens according to SOPs and study-prescribed laboratory manuals. Supports lab supply ordering and maintenance of appropriate levels of supply stocking. Bench work duties: Performs bench work as assigned. Processes clinical research specimens (e.g., blood tissue, urine, etc.) for fractionation and preservation (e.g., plasma/serum, PBMC, slides, etc). Ships processed specimens to central labs and collaborators. Prepares and maintains laboratory reagents, stocks. Research development: Establishes and maintains positive, collaborative working relationships with lab members and resource users in daily CRSP operation and service needs. Equipment Oversight: Performs basic equipment operation and maintenance or coordinates with senior staff to complete maintenance on equipment and software; potentially reviews and identifies new equipment needs. Assists in supply management. Training and Education: Assists in developing and modifying lab protocols, training materials, and specimen handling guidelines for investigators. May supervise work?study students, interns and lab aides. Administrative tasks: Maintains laboratory records and compiles data on experiments and assays. Reports results to users; accurately documents laboratory activities; performs basic billing requirements. Other duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibility

Level of autonomy: Communicates day-to-day lab needs to the supervisor or senior staff. Holds no responsibility for supervision of others except for work?study students, interns or lab aides. High oversight and training from the resource director and senior staff and partial interfacing with resource users. Financial responsibility: This role does not have direct financial responsibility but will assist in billing and review of charge codes as required.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree (Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field) OR Associate Degree and 1+ years of experience, OR GED/High School Diploma and 3 years of experience. Work experience can be substituted for education: Independent research experience in addition to school lab experience is usually necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new protocols and techniques. Ability to learn and operate all specimen processing equipment in accordance with biosafety standards. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a collaborative team?oriented environment. Experience with MS Office suite of applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, One Drive, etc). Capability of accurate record keeping and data entry.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is from $29.77 to $42.39 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This position is not eligible for H?1B sponsorship at this time. Benefits
