Open Rank – Assistant or Associate Professor in American Indian and Indigenous Studies
We seek an outstanding scholar holding a Ph.D. in American Indian and Indigenous Studies, American Studies, or a relevant field. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in research and teaching and will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of expertise as well as one of the core courses in our undergraduate curriculum, with a teaching load of two courses per semester (2/2). A demonstrated commitment to meaningfully engaging Tribal nations and Native communities is preferred.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in American Indian and Indigenous Studies.
Teach one core undergraduate course in the American Studies curriculum.
Maintain a strong research agenda with publications and creative work.
Engage Tribal nations and Native communities in research and teaching.
Participate in departmental service and university commitments.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in American Indian and Indigenous Studies, American Studies, or related field.
Demonstrated record of research or creative activity that meaningfully engages Tribal nations.
Strong teaching record and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Evidence of interdisciplinary scholarship is a plus.
