PRIMARY PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE A member of the Community Impact Grantmaking Team, the Program Manager, Innovation will support strategy development and coordinate the execution of key components across Greater Twin Cities United Way’s (GTCUW) innovation initiatives. These include Career Academies, Full Lives, 80x3: Resilient from the Start, and Pathways Home—each focused on advancing equity and economic mobility through community‑driven, systems‑level solutions. This role plays a vital part in helping the team implement these efforts, grounded in the belief that United Way can harness the power of community to create more just and inclusive opportunities for all. This position reports to the Operations Manager and works closely with Associate Director and Program Officers across the Innovation team.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Program Management (45%)

Provide project and relationship management support to ensure effective implementation of innovation initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Assist with the development and facilitation of equitable, community‑centered grantmaking processes.

Support the planning and execution of Communities of Practice and other Innovation‑led convenings.

Help communicate the vision, strategy, and impact of Innovation work in compelling ways across various formats (e.g., presentations, newsletters, and flyers).

Advocate for GTCUW’s Innovation initiatives and consistently apply an equity and inclusion lens across all work.

Relationship Management (35%)

Manage and maintain relationships with a range of external stakeholders to support effective program implementation.

Participate in cross‑sector partnerships on behalf of GTCUW, engaging with nonprofit, business, government, and community organizations.

Collaborate with Innovation Program Officers to facilitate partnerships that advance goals.

Support fundraising and resource development efforts through donor engagement, proposal development, and grant reporting, as directed by the Associate Director.

Measurement, Learning & Evaluation (15%)

Support Innovation learning and measurement plans to understand and share impact in collaboration with Evaluation and Learning Team.

Assist with data tracking and reporting needs, including gathering data from various sources and responding to information requests.

Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

Engage in GTCUW diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts; integrates principles in role.

Engage in and maintain a positive work environment.

Contribute to the Community Impact Grantmaking team strategy including development of future initiatives, aiding in the investigation of community challenges and generation of innovative ideas and solutions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Three years of experience in program management and/or grant making preferred.

Knowledge of local community context and Greater Twin Cities impact areas of stable housing, educational success, food security, and economic opportunity.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including public speaking and clearly communicating complex messages.
