Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our dedicated surgical team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive oral surgical care, specializing in dental implants, cleft palate repair, and a broad range of oral and maxillofacial procedures. This position offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the‑art oral surgery center with a collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform dental implant placement, including single tooth and full arch restorations
Occasionally conduct All-on-4 and full arch implant procedures
Perform sinus lift procedures (lateral and crestal approaches) and bone grafting
Extract impacted wisdom teeth and other complex extractions
Perform socket preservation and ridge augmentation procedures
Place bone grafts (autogenous, allograft, and xenograft materials)
Conduct pre-prosthetic surgery to prepare patients for dentures or other prosthetics
Perform exposure and bonding of impacted teeth for orthodontic purposes
Treat oral infections and perform incision and drainage procedures
Evaluate patients and develop comprehensive treatment plans
Obtain informed consent and educate patients about procedures, risks, and post-operative care
Provide consultation services to referring dentists and physicians
Manage post-operative care and follow-up appointments
Address complications and provide emergency surgical care when needed
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
Collaborate with general dentists, orthodontists, and other specialists
Participate in quality assurance and continuing education programs
Supervise and mentor surgical assistants and support staff
Stay current with advances in oral and maxillofacial surgery techniques
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution
Completion of an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program (4-6 years)
Board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Valid state dental license
DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Proven expertise in dental implantology and bone grafting techniques
Experience with cleft palate repair and craniofacial surgery (preferred)
Strong surgical skills with attention to detail and precision
Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilitiesProficiency with modern surgical technology and equipment
Work Environment
Modern, well-equipped oral surgery center with advanced surgical technology
Climate-controlled operating rooms and patient care areas
Exposure to anesthesia, sterilization agents, and medical materials
Use of specialized surgical instruments, imaging equipment, and computer systems
Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures (2-6 hours)
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for precise surgical work
Visual acuity for detailed surgical procedures and patient examination
Ability to lift and position patients as needed (up to 50 lbs occasionally)
Comfortable wearing surgical attire, masks, gloves, and protective equipment throughout the day
