A Day in the Life This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic’s Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Shift 3rd Shift: Tuesday to Saturday (10:00 PM–6:30 AM)

Responsibilities

Develop, administer, and implement environmental, health, and safety programs in accordance with governmental requirements.

Depending on position location, monitor pollution prevention activities, compliance and auditing efforts.

Conduct studies and prepare environmental impact reports for new construction projects, plant processes and permit changes.

Review and analyze environmental documentation issued by regulatory agencies; collaborate with regulatory agencies to determine corrective action plans.

Evaluate proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public and environmental impact.

Interact with regulatory bodies to resolve compliance issues; establish permit requirements and assist in regulatory audits.

Represent company in government and industry rule‑making activities.

Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken where environmental, health, and safety hazards exist.

Identify and take corrective action against activities that pose potential threats to workers’ health or safety, including recommending organizational measures to protect workers’ safety through revised methods, processes, or materials; inspecting workplace environments, equipment, and/or practices to ensure compliance with standards and regulations; and investigating and/or identifying causes regarding filed incidents.

Provide/promote employee awareness and training on matters of environmental, health, and safety.

Coordinate and oversee all waste and recycling pick‑ups, including hazardous, universal, biomedical, and general waste.

Maintain accurate tracking, labeling, and documentation of waste accumulation areas and manifests.

Ensure compliance with EPA, DOT, and local environmental regulations governing waste storage, transportation, and disposal.

Work closely with approved waste vendors to schedule timely pick‑ups and maintain required documentation (manifests, certificates of disposal, etc.).

Inspect satellite accumulation areas and storage locations to ensure regulatory compliance and housekeeping standards.

Assist in maintaining environmental permits and records related to waste generation, air emissions, and wastewater as applicable.

Conduct periodic inspections and audits of environmental compliance activities.

Participate in spill response, containment, and clean‑up efforts as needed.

Support EHS reporting, including metrics tracking and environmental performance dashboards.

Provide general support to the EHS team in safety programs, training, and inspections.

Maintain inventory and organization of EHS supplies (spill kits, PPE, labels, etc.).

Assist with emergency preparedness drills and incident response documentation.

Minimum Requirements

0 years of experience.

Nice to Have

Some experience working with waste management, recycling, or environmental programs.

Basic understanding of EPA, DOT, or local environmental regulations.

Familiarity with labeling and documentation for hazardous or universal waste.

Willingness to learn and assist with environmental reporting or inspections.

Good organizational skills to manage waste records and supplies.

Comfortable communicating with vendors and internal teams.

Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, or other tracking tools).

Interest in developing knowledge in EHS compliance and sustainability.
