Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network and security infrastructures for managed clients.
Serve as Tier III escalation for complex routing, switching, wireless, and firewall issues across Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet environments.
Lead client onboarding, migrations, and deployments, including configuration templates, testing, and go-live support.
Conduct proactive network health assessments, implement remediations, and ensure optimal uptime and performance.
Participate in design reviews, customer calls, and technical discussions as a subject matter expert.
Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and standardized configuration templates.
Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and automation teams to enhance service delivery and tooling.
Stay informed on vendor updates, firmware advisories, and evolving best practices to strengthen network reliability and security posture.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a network engineer in an MSP, VAR, or enterprise environment.
Expert-level knowledge of Cisco enterprise networking (Catalyst, ISR, WLC).
Strong proficiency with Meraki (MX, MS, MR, Systems Manager) and Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiAuthenticator, FortiManager, EMS).
Proven experience with:
L2/L3 switching and routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL, site-to-site, client)
VLANs, NAT, ACLs, QoS, and high availability configurations
Firewall security principles, policies, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of NAC solutions and network segmentation.
Excellent troubleshooting methodology and strong documentation practices.
Exceptional communication skills and professionalism in client-facing engagements.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) — minimum requirement; CCIE preferred.
One or more of the following additional certifications:
Fortinet NSE 4+
Cisco DevNet Associate, CyberOps, or Meraki ECMS
Microsoft AZ-900, SC-300, or equivalent Azure certifications
Special Consideration
MSP, carrier, or multi-tenant NOC experience.
Experience with scripting or network automation (Python, Ansible, Meraki/Forti APIs).
Background in network segmentation, Zero Trust architecture, or secure SD-WAN.
Familiarity with VoIP QoS and troubleshooting (CUCM, Webex, RingCentral, etc.).
