Joining Sargent & Lundy\'s Nuclear Power Group as a Senior Structural Engineer presents a distinctive opportunity for professional growth in the exciting field of carbon-free nuclear energy and related technologies. You will be supporting advanced technology projects, collaborating with top industry professionals, tackling exciting challenges, and contributing to the advancement of safe and reliable nuclear power generation for a greener future. This is a structural engineering senior-level position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in structural engineering. You will collaborate with a team of structural engineers, interface with engineers from other disciplines, and guide the work of less experienced project team members. You will be involved in the design of new nuclear facilities including small modular reactors, advanced reactors and medical isotope facilities, and in upgrades to US and international operating nuclear plants. Work location: Hybrid schedule requiring in-office work 3 days per week at the Sargent & Lundy office in Peachtree Corners, GA. Responsibilities

Apply your knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design Work on a wide range of projects for various clients Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications and reports, and support designers with drawing development Mentor others in the development of engineering deliverables Perform the structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using state-of-the-art computer tools Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering degree with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program 5 or more years of experience working as a member of a project team in the design and analysis of structures Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI Excellent written and verbal communication skills Valued, But Not Required

MS in Civil Engineering degree Experience with design and analysis of power plant and/or industrial structures On-site construction support experience PE or SE license Awards & Benefits
