Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field security and loss prevention across Amazon’s worldwide operations, affiliate and retail businesses. This hourly position is critical for protecting people, product, and data in designated buildings.

Key Job Responsibilities

Conduct confidential investigations and prepare prompt written reports of theft, fraud, and critical incidents.

Identify vulnerabilities (e.g., loss, associate experience, process improvement, data protection, physical security infrastructure) and define appropriate mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Serve as department liaison and security/crisis management subject‑matter expert for site leadership, keeping them informed on key issues, strategies, and the department’s performance.

Develop strategies for alarm reduction and conduct system diagnostics for problematic devices by engaging and resolving issues with internal and external partners.

Provide domestic regional travel up to 25% of the time when applicable.

Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in environments with variable noise, temperature, and weather; and continuously climb and descend stairs (if applicable).

Cover 24/7 operations and be available for all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

A Day in the Life As an SLP Specialist, you will join a team of security professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple units within a dedicated geographic area. Your day involves regular physical security audits, investigating policy violations and loss events, collecting information through monitoring systems and tools, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews. You will identify vulnerabilities, develop mitigating measures, and maintain the physical integrity of fulfillment, logistics, and retail locations. You will collaborate with external security service providers, act as a point of contact for internal and external partners (e.g., legal, HR, law enforcement), and deliver loss prevention education and awareness programs across management levels.

About the Team WWOS creates and maintains a secure work environment through global security centers staffed by subject‑matter experts in people and asset protection. The team implements policies, delivers leadership and staff training, leverages technology to reduce variation, and audits practices to ensure compliance.

Basic Qualifications

High school or equivalent diploma.

2+ years of blue‑badge Amazon experience OR 1+ year in security service OR loss prevention OR asset protection OR investigations OR law enforcement OR operations OR Loss Prevention Qualified Career Choice Graduate.

1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, in a professional capacity.

Experience in workplace incident mitigation or de‑escalation and business continuity planning.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using data and metrics to inform decisions.

Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment.

Strong communication, collaboration, networking, and influence skills across diverse business levels.

1+ year of leadership or management and/or supply chain experience.

Investigative interviewing experience and relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Protection Professional, Certified Forensic Interviewer, Threat Assessment).

Experience with physical security systems maintenance and vendor coordination.

The base pay for this position ranges from $44,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $72,600/year in our highest geographic market.
