Overview The Sterile Processing Tech IIII is responsible and accountable for all activities and competencies related to sterile processing, supply, inventory, and equipment management. Ensures that instrumentation and equipment needed for surgery and various medical exams has been sterilized and assembled in accordance with regulatory guidelines and hospital policy. Ensures compliance with all record‑keeping requirements. Assists with ordering and procuring equipment and instrumentation as needed.

Responsibilities Perform all sterile processing duties in an acute‑care facility, maintaining comprehensive SPD knowledge and advanced skill across a wide variety of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and equipment. Provide expert‑level knowledge of the decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization process of surgical instruments. Maintain instrument tracking systems (SPM) and sterilization records. Ensure all record‑keeping complies with regulatory and hospital policy. Assist in procurement and ordering of equipment and instrumentation.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education/experience.

BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within 6 months.

Sterile Processing Tech Certification (CRCST, CPSPD).

Four (4) years of direct experience in performing SPD duties in an acute‑care facility.

Comprehensive SPD knowledge and advanced skill across a wide variety of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and equipment.

Expert‑level knowledge of the decontamination, disinfection and sterilization process of surgical instruments.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Knowledge of instrument tracking systems (SPM).

Knowledge of sterilization records and documentation.

Experience and proficiency with EPIC.

Preferred Qualifications

CIS, CER, or CHL Certification from HSPA.

Previous experience in a lead SPD role.

Special Conditions

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $78,571 - $97,739 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $37.63 - $46.81

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
