Job Title: Automation Engineer - Team Development and Leadership
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to lead and develop a team of Automation and Controls Engineers. This role involves managing electrical engineering controls and automation projects, ensuring adherence to standards, and providing technical expertise to enhance factory system reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Lead electrical engineering controls and automation projects, ensuring compliance with established standards.
Provide technical expertise to address reliability issues in factory systems, including PLC, HMI, Andon, variable speed control, and servo motion control, to maximize plant efficiency and reliability.
Offer leadership in managing software modifications, optimizing programming, and maintaining comprehensive records.
Participate in establishing best practices and standards for electrical engineering, controls, automation, Industry 4.0, and IoT.
Engage in cross-plant improvement teams and build strong partnerships with plant manufacturing, corporate engineering, and union workforce.
Support root cause analysis for electrical, instrumentation, and control issues.
Develop plans and processes to support software maximization and operational effectiveness.
Essential Skills
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or an equivalent technical degree with relevant experience.
Demonstrated leadership in managing project teams.
Experience in delivering electrical, controls, and automation capital projects within a manufacturing and assembly environment.
Robot integration experience.
Proven leadership in Project Management of electrical, controls, and automation systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Software/PLC programming knowledge, with Allen-Bradley as a core competency and Siemens exposure.
Experience with planning and implementing Andon, Industry 4.0, and IoT systems, with prior experience in Ignition preferred.
Experience in guarding and safety, risk assessments analysis.
Proficiency in using hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and detailed mechanical drawings related to electrical controls.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Creo, and Fusion is desired.
Work Environment The position involves working in a dynamic manufacturing environment where collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential. The role requires a deep understanding of electrical controls and automation, with an emphasis on maximizing operational efficiency and reliability. Dress code is business casual, and safety protocols are strictly adhered to.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Ripon, Wisconsin.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $130,000.00 - $150,000.00/yr. Health, vision, Dental, 401k, and PTO.
Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Ripon, WI.
