Compensation The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $22 per hour. The role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short‑term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.
Join Our Team as a Machinist We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Metal Finishing Operations department. In this role, you will primarily operate automated and manual machines as part of a sheet metal processing cell, ensuring smooth operations and high quality.
Key Responsibilities
Operate computer‑controlled sheet metal processing machines to produce high‑quality parts by reading and interpreting complex blueprints.
Use simple material‑handling equipment and overhead cranes to handle sheet‑metal stock ranging from 30 lb to 150 lb.
Inspect parts using various measurement tools.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to use or learn measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial calipers, protractors and tape measures.
Basic knowledge of machine controls and programs.
One year of experience with the set‑up and operation of computer‑controlled punching, cutting, forming machines, or press brakes.
Required High School diploma / GED
Preferred 1 year of machinist and manufacturing experience a plus.
Major Physical Demands
Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lb to 50 lb.
Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances.
Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lb to 25 lb.
Pushing: Occasional use of electric hand truck to move parts a moderate distance.
Pulling: Occasional use of electric hand truck to move parts a moderate distance.
Bending: Frequent bending and crouching required; reaching throughout the body.
Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lb to 50 lb, along with a variety of hand tools.
