Description SHINE Technologies is seeking a Test Engineer who will be responsible for the development and execution of test plans for SHINE equipment and processes. Test Engineers lead the commissioning and testing of electro‑mechanical devices including the software. They also perform process acceptance testing of prototype production equipment and are responsible for product verification and validation. Test engineers are the primary operators of the first systems and develop the documentation for safe operation. They also develop test procedures and design test fixtures for components, sub‑assemblies, and systems.

The base salary range for this position is $79,000 - $85,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Duties and Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Develop detailed component and subassembly acceptance test procedures and criteria in collaboration with design engineering teams

Create detailed system integration plans and system test procedures

Test and verify components and subassemblies using electrical testing and/or precision measurement equipment

Perform I/O checks, troubleshoot and repair problems found during testing

Maintain detailed test records

Operate SHINE accelerator systems

Exercise prototype systems, establish system operating conditions and modes

Lead the development of documentation for safe operation of first of a kind systems

Participate in design reviews and provide practical feedback from system testing to influence future designs

Member of team performing device commissioning, service and training of operators at customer sites

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized test environment

Perform job duties with minimal instruction or supervision

Requirements

BS in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent experience

2+ years of experience in a highly technical industry preferred

Experience with basic electrical tools including DMM, oscilloscope and soldering

Experience creating test procedures, assembly documentation and developing processes

Experience troubleshooting complex electro‑mechanical systems

Ability to read CAD assembly models and electrical schematics

Desire to learn innovative technologies and concepts

Ability to work independently and within team environments

Preferred Qualifications

Troubleshooting and debugging system hardware and software experience

Troubleshooting knowledge of electro‑mechanical devices and the processes they support

Working knowledge of analog, digital, and power circuitry, able to read detailed schematics

Working knowledge of high voltage systems

Working knowledge of high vacuum systems

Experience with plasma sources and ion beam

Experience with LabVIEW development

Experience with new product development, prototype and R&D

Experience creating models and/or schematics in Solidworks/Solidworks Electrical (or other CAD software)

Proficiency in data analysis and database knowledge

Flexibility to work various shifts

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre‑employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
