Role Description This is a volunteer on‑site role for a HUD Certified Housing Counselor located in Manchester, VA. The counselor will be responsible for providing housing counseling services, including foreclosure prevention and budgeting assistance. Daily tasks will involve meeting with clients, assessing their housing situations, and providing tailored advice and support. Additionally, the counselor will work to ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines.
Qualifications
Certified Housing Counselor and Housing Counseling skills
Experience with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and foreclosures
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and provide empathetic support to clients
Experience in the non‑profit sector is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in social work, finance, or related field is preferred
