Job Title: Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer
Job Description
This position offers an exciting opportunity to transition from a contributor to a leader, emphasizing leadership, technical mastery, and mentorship within the plumbing and fire protection discipline. You will not only design but also mentor, coordinate, and elevate the team.
Responsibilities
Own the plumbing and fire protection design scope on projects.
Guide junior staff with precision and intention.
Navigate complexity and contribute to coordination with leadership presence.
Bring foresight to meetings, discipline to documentation, and mentorship to junior engineers.
Produce redlines that teach and systems that solve.
Design independently, communicate clearly, and reinforce quality across all phases of the project.
Lead internal and external coordination across all phases of delivery.
Manage client communication throughout the project.
Own quality assurance of technical documentation and drawing sets.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering.
4+ years of progressive plumbing and fire protection design experience.
Strong command of AutoCAD and proficiency in system sizing, flow, and pressure calculations.
Experience across diverse building types and occupancies.
Ability to identify and solve design challenges with sound engineering judgment.
Strong communication skills and client-facing experience.
Deep understanding of relevant codes, standards, and real-world applications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
EIT or PE certification.
Strong organization skills and time management.
Professional communication skills.
Work Environment A hybrid schedule is offered with 1-2 days of work from home.
Office hours are from 8am-5pm or 8:30am-5:30pm.
