Job Overview We are seeking a new
Quality Control (QC) Manager
to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. This opportunity will be located in our field office at Memphis International Airport.
Key Responsibilities
Manage development and implementation of project‑specific Quality Control (QC) plan in coordination with project team, the owner/architect team and contract documents
Develop or approve Definable Features of Work (DFOW) Log with input from project team
Coordinate with Operations Manager (OM) to ensure sufficient QC staff and oversight
Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and vendors to ensure fully compliant project
Create structure and supportive environment that develops a high performing team, provides professional development opportunities and engages in coaching and mentoring for all staff
Develop comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of project‑specific contract documents (including contract, plans, specifications and applicable codes)
Execute project‑specific QC Plan in a manner that engages all project staff, subcontractors, vendors and consultants for compliance and consistent execution
Establish and manage punch list prevention plan
Plan and chair pre‑installation meetings to communicate and set expectations of contract and scope
Plan, chair and participate in mock‑up review meetings
Perform daily quality follow‑up inspections on‑site
Arrange for third party testing and inspections, then analyze and report those results
Perform material delivery inspections in collaboration with project superintendent and trade foreman to confirm compliance with approved submittals
Chair or attend First Work In Place (WIP) Observation with project team
Knowledgeable of project‑specific engineering procedures, including document control, submissions management, creation and tracking of Requests for Information (RFIs), material samples, documentation and tracking of potential cost changes, documentation and tracking of approved change orders within budgetary requirements
Implement project‑specific QC Plan in coordination with project safety plan and trade partner Pre Task Plan (PTP)
Understand project execution plan to manage and direct QC activities at appropriate stages of work, in line with and in support of project schedule
Continually improve and apply strategies and tools to efficiently and effectively document, track and record compliance with contract documents
Expand development of QC plan as project progresses to improve quality procedures
Document non‑compliant materials and/or workmanship and direct team to engage with trade partners for removal and replacement of defective work and document compliance after corrective work is completed and prior to starting any subsequent work
Ensure completion of project closeout documentation and quality reports
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program
Minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Construction experience that bridges both field and engineering responsibilities
Well‑rounded knowledge of construction processes across all trades, means and methods, and materials their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances
Preferred Qualifications
Aviation project experience
Large commercial project experience
