Our client, a global manufacturing firm known for its precision, innovation, and technical excellence is seeking a hands‑on Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. Serving customers across aerospace, medical, semiconductor, automotive, and electronics industries, the company offers stability, strong leadership, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on financial performance and operational efficiency.
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Cost Accountant is a highly visible, analytical role supporting our manufacturing operations. You’ll take ownership of cost accounting processes, maintaining accurate inventory valuation, standard costing, and cost analysis while partnering cross‑functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and finance teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a hands‑on environment where their work directly influences business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage inventory and cost accounting processes across two sites, ensuring accuracy in valuation, standards, and reporting.
Lead month‑end close activities including journal entries, variance analysis, and cost reporting.
Develop and maintain annual cost standards; update monthly commodity pricing as needed.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational performance analysis.
Partner with plant and finance teams to improve cost visibility, controls, and process efficiency.
Conduct and analyze cycle counts, scrap reporting, and physical inventory.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or Master’s Degree is a plus.
6+ years of cost accounting experience within manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
A hands‑on, collaborative approach with strong analytical and communication skills.
Hours 8:30 am to 5 pm (Monday – Friday)
