Role Overview Under close supervision, the Radiologic Technologist (Multi-Modality) performs a variety of duties in the Department of Radiology/Imaging Services related to general radiography and fluoroscopy. Performs diagnostic imaging examinations as directed for diagnostic and treatment purposes according to established procedures.
Duties & Essential Job Functions
Assist physicians in administering contrast media.
Rotate assignments within department shifts as required.
Process images for modalities (CR/DR/Film) and use PACS system.
Maintain adequate records of examinations, doses, and contrast; use dual patient identifiers.
Assist patient movement, rooming, and transport.
Develop and optimize technical factors for radiographic procedures.
Assist with equipment or procedures not routinely taught in school.
Assist in training students.
Perform general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties as determined by employer.
Practice sterile techniques, maintain a clean environment, and ensure supplies are stocked.
Produce radiographs, position and transfer patients, and provide immobilization devices.
Provide radiation protection per safety standards and apply ALARA principles.
Select and operate all imaging equipment as directed and licensed.
Qualifications
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
Preferred Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
Required Experience: Proficient in at least three modalities.
Modalities must include X‑ray and fluoroscopy; at least one additional modality such as CT, Mammography, or MRI.
Required Licenses & Certifications
Valid ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification.
ARRT certifications for each modality performed (e.g., CT, Mammography, MRI).
Valid Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the State of California.
BLS Basic Life Support certification (AHA).
Pay Range $54.22 – $71.25 per hour.
Additional Information Technologist will provide both X‑ray and CT services, with weekend and holiday rotations. Responsible for daily QA/QC on CT equipment and other department equipment. Small community hospital with a reasonable workload.
