Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic Application Engineer to join our team and play a key role in winning business within the utility, data center, industrial/OEM and packaged equipment center sectors. You will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, estimating and product management teams to develop competitive, profitable bids that meet our clients' requirements and deadlines while adhering to industry standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Job Duties • Review Request for Proposals/Quotations (RFPs/RFQs) to ensure alignment with company capabilities and compliance with applicable industry standards.
• Provide guidance to customers on project deliverables as needed.
• Manage the proposal process from start through PO acceptance, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of proposals.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, estimating, engineering and product management, to gather necessary proposal information.
• Ensure that pricing and cost estimates are accurate and reflect the scope of work and material requirements outlined in the proposal.
Partner with sales and product management to develop accurate, competitive pricing strategies for bids that drive business growth.
• Coordinate document preparation, format proposals, and ensure adherence to company branding guidelines.
Be the liaison between outside sales teams and customers, building strong relationships and providing outstanding service.
Review post project operations data and provide closed loop feedback for sales/estimating process enhancements.
Occasionally present proposals to clients, showcasing our expertise and solutions.
• Maintain proposal records and documentation, tracking status and outcomes of submitted proposals.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field required; equivalent experience accepted.
Two plus years of experience in technical proposal development and administration within an electrical manufacturing environment required.
Two or more years of experience with utility customers required.
Two or more years of experience with Low and Medium voltage Packaged Equipment Centers required.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and ability to manage multiple deadlines required.
A strong attention to detail, with the ability to stay organized and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment required.
Familiarity with ERP systems required.
Familiarity with Salesforce system required.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and electrical/mechanical drawings required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, required.
Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background checks required.
Ability to lift, push, and pull objects and perform physical tasks required.
