Responsibilities
Offers guidance, provides project milestones, communications, and facilitation to the cross-functional team for engineering projects related to new business development and existing design/material change management.
Tracks, monitors, and manages projects through providing schedules throughout the Product Life Cycle and applying relevant methodologies.
Manages internal and external supplier relationships to ensure completion of projects and milestones that stay within defined budget.
Collects prototype submissions and new launch production documentation from internal and external suppliers.
Vets customer prototype and production submissions through the Quality department.
Coordinates with Product Engineering, Quality, and Metrology departments during prototype kick-off to determine equipment measurements, techniques, and product layout.
Identifies and manages the resolution of deviations from the quote/contract or defined project agreement, while determining risks.
Ensures the product is launched on‑time, at or under budget, and with consideration to material cost.
Serves as primary interface to the customer, with support from the cross‑functional team, through providing updates and tracking reports.
Communicates variances in project budgets, plans, and schedules with Product Marketing and Management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
3–5 years of experience in process engineering, project management, or product development within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Experience working with cross‑functional teams including Product Engineering, Quality, Metrology, and external suppliers.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Gantt charts, Agile, Stage‑Gate).
Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and engineering change processes.
Familiarity with prototype development, production documentation, and quality assurance protocols.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications; experience with CAD software is a plus.
Knowledge of measurement techniques and metrology equipment.
Communication & Collaboration: Communicates clearly and concisely, while engaging proactively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
