The role involves collaboration with sales, marketing, engineering, and other teams to define market development strategy, marketing messaging, supporting content, and the long-term technology roadmap. The candidate will champion the Biomedical Engineering market internally to ensure product development plans align with market trends. Responsibilities
Deploy knowledge of MATLAB & Simulink in Biomedical Engineering to grow the market and cultivate strategic research institutions, universities, and groups within them. Work with professors and researchers to understand teaching and research workflows and needs; identify gaps and propose MathWorks solutions. Engage with key Biomedical Engineering universities, research institutes, and companies to secure deep technical engagements and establish organizational adoption of MATLAB & Simulink. Meet with Deans and senior management at strategic institutions to create a shared vision for adoption of MATLAB & Simulink in teaching and research. Build and nurture relationships with key decision makers at strategic institutions. Extract lessons learned into best practices and sales enablement tools to support adoption in teaching and research worldwide. Monitor progress of contacts, opportunities, funnel, and usage to achieve adoption goals in collaboration with Education Sales and Customer Success Engineers. Enlist the Biomedical Engineering community, including influencers, toolbox and book authors, to advocate for MATLAB & Simulink. Engage with funding agencies and consortia to illustrate MATLAB & Simulink benefits for goals attainment. Deliver presentations, papers, panels at conferences, interact with analysts and journalists, and drive marketing programs and supporting materials. Develop market strategy to increase adoption and report progress to internal advisory boards; advocate for customer needs to influence product direction. Qualifications
PhD in Biomedical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Strong knowledge of and hands-on experience with MATLAB & Simulink for modeling and simulation, data analytics, application deployment, and embedded systems development. Market development experience or experience supporting sales and engaging with customers as a sales/Applications Engineer. Fluent in written and spoken English. 10+ years of experience in research or teaching in Biomedical Engineering areas such as bioinstrumentation, biomechanics, medical imaging and optics, tissue and neural engineering, rehabilitation, and surgical robotics at leading research institutions or universities. Additional experiences
Experience as a professor or postdoc, developing proposals and securing research grants, or developing course curriculum. Product marketing experience with a global technical software company. Prior employment with a global software company involved in scientific computing, data analysis and/or modeling and simulation tools. Location and travel
This position will be based in Natick, MA. The candidate should expect to travel about 25% of the time. The role has worldwide responsibility, so travel will include international components.
