Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to respond and remediate after‑hour incidents reported to the DAF CLOUDworks ticketing system on Wright‑Patterson Air Force Base, OH. DAF CLOUDworks is a rapidly growing secure cloud program that encompasses 10+ teams supporting information security, infrastructure development, and cloud migration. To support and sustain the environment, an engineer must be available after‑hours to receive alerts or tickets in alignment with service level agreements between DAF CLOUDworks and its partners. Successful candidates should be effective communicators and problem solvers who can develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This position is contingent on customer approval and funding. It may be filled as a level 2 or level 3 position and may be eligible for a shift differential while supporting 2nd or 3rd shift.

Basic Qualifications

Cloud Engineer (level 2): high school diploma with 6 years of relevant experience; bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience; or master’s degree with 0 years of experience.

Principal Cloud Engineer (level 3): high school diploma with 9 years of relevant experience; bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience; or master’s degree with 3 years of experience.

U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance.

Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift schedules and provide after‑hours support; training and onboarding will start on the day shift, and schedules may include weekends. Flexibility is a must.

Able to obtain IAT Level II certification such as Security+ within 60 days.

Working knowledge and/or familiarity with cloud‑based technologies (AWS).

Efficiently resolve help desk tickets using Jira Service Management (JSM) in a demanding, fast‑paced environment, ensuring timely and effective user support.

Proficiently utilize Jira and Confluence with in‑depth knowledge of JSM, Core, and Software modules, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of their integration capabilities across the Atlassian suite.

Demonstrates exceptional organizational and time‑management skills by prioritizing tasks, managing deadlines, and maintaining meticulous documentation in a dynamic work environment.

Highly effective communicator, collaborator, and organizer, leveraging exceptional interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders across all levels; proficient at independent task management and meticulous problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications

Fundamental cloud certifications such as AWS Platform (Cloud Practitioner or higher certification) or Azure Platform (Azure Fundamentals or higher certification).

Active IAT Level III certification (e.g., CISSP, CASP+, SecurityX).

Proven experience administering JIRA and Confluence, including user management, workflow configuration, and plugin implementation.

Possesses practical JIRA administration experience and formal Atlassian JIRA Administrator training.

Salary Range Primary Level Salary Range: $81,300.00 – $121,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 – $150,500.00
