Job Overview We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank in Markets Trading, you will be a key member of an agile team tasked with designing and delivering market‑leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Your role involves implementing critical technology solutions across various technical domains to support the firm’s business objectives. You will enhance the FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities) electronic trading analytics platform, improving its usability and expanding its offerings. You will develop Python applications that integrate vast amounts of electronic trading data stored both on‑premises and in AWS, utilizing KDB+ technology and machine learning tools, and collaborate with business stakeholders, including traders and quants.

Responsibilities

Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.

Contribute to all aspects of building and supporting real‑time Python feeds publishing billions of messages daily to distributed KDB+ platforms.

Orchestrate large data pipelines that provide seamless interoperability between timeseries data sources and ML platforms.

Focus relentlessly on resiliency, performance, and monitoring of all Python data streaming apps.

Work closely with the FICC KDB development team on data onboarding, data processing, and data core engineering tasks.

Create secure and high‑quality production code.

Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.

Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications

Formal training or certification on system design concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.

Strong hands‑on development experience in core Python programming.

Expertise in building real‑time scalable Python apps processing large volumes of timeseries data.

Proficiency in building, deploying, and supporting Python apps in AWS.

Experience in building modern ML data pipelines using Python.

Experience with NoSQL databases.

Team‑winning attitude to build, deliver, and work together as part of a global development team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with core Java programming.

KDB and Q language experience.

Working knowledge of distributed messaging platforms such as AMPS and Kafka.

Experience in integrating Python data apps with AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, and LLM suites.

Fundamental knowledge of AWS compute services and storage tiers.

Exposure to electronic trading markets and products, preferably fixed income.
