Description Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehab Center is a 120‑bed facility offering excellence in rehabilitation and skilled nursing care in a lovely homelike environment that is newly renovated and under new administration. Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Nursing to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Oversee and manage Education, Infection Prevention, and Wound Management.
Assist in evaluating and implementing long‑term and sub‑acute nursing care within the facility.
Oversee nursing staffing to ensure quality care and act as the DON‑designee in the absence of the DON.
Orient, instruct, educate, and train nursing staff as needed.
Consult and communicate with in‑service departments for further education or re‑education.
Supervise and evaluate the work performance of nursing personnel, ensuring proper safety practice and standards in nursing practice.
Coordinate the Infection Control Program and the Wound Care Program.
Assume DON, unit manager, or charge nurse duties in emergencies as needed.
Assist nurses in assessing and developing care plans for individual residents, complying with regulations and standards of nursing practice.
Consult and communicate with the Interdisciplinary Care team regarding resident, family, or guardian care concerns.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
Wound Care Certification and SigmaCare experience are a plus.
Supervisory or managerial experience in a hospital, nursing home, LTC, SNF, and/or sub‑acute rehabilitation setting. Preference for geriatric skilled nursing.
Graduated from an approved school of nursing.
Current New York State RN license in good standing.
BSN preferred or a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience.
Ability to work cohesively with residents, families, and staff from various departments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
