DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION Department: NYC Department of Social Services

Location: 375 Pearl Street, New York, NY

Salary Range: $110,067 - $135,000

Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Administrator to serve as the Director of Administration for the HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA), the most comprehensive program in the country. The Director will oversee administrative operations, including facilities management, personnel data compilation, equipment management, and external affairs. The role provides strategic guidance to HASA leadership and represents the agency externally.

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate activities related to facilities at all HASA centers, acting as liaison with DSS Division of General Services & Support.

Track and troubleshoot equipment issues across HASA centers and collaborate with DSS Division of Information Technology Services.

Collect and report personnel data, ensuring compliance with DCAS and DSS HCM regulations.

Plan, coordinate, and direct external affairs, addressing community inquiries regarding HASA programs.

Review and verify program data, consolidate information, and provide recommendations to senior management.

Represent HASA at meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Act as principal advisor to the Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Deputy Commissioners on administrative matters.

Minimum Qualifications

A master’s degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, public administration, human resources, operations research, or a closely related field AND two years of full‑time professional experience in relevant administrative or managerial roles, including 18 months in an executive or supervisory capacity.

OR a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and four years of professional experience in the areas above, including the required supervisory experience.

Preferred Skills Creativity and innovation in policy and program development; strong administrative and management skills; expertise in health, mental health, substance use, or vocational rehabilitation; strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
