Location: Nevada, Iowa (10 miles east of Ames, IA)

We are hiring a

Fertilizer Terminal Manager

to direct and manage the Nevada Fertilizer Terminal, assist with location agronomy facilities, equipment and personnel daily activities, and coordinate with multi‑location managers, the assistant location manager and the Agronomy Sales team.

Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a CDL A with hazmat endorsement and Commercial Pesticide Applicator License.

Ability to work longer hours during peak seasons.

Outstanding work ethic with attention to detail.

Positive attitude and strong customer‑relations skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee plant personnel & assigned labor; coordinate with on‑site contractors to ensure safe and proper execution of projects.

Organize and direct inbound and outbound fertilizer distribution.

Develop a teamwork atmosphere among plant personnel and assigned labor.

Coordinate major repairs and facility improvements with the location manager, Agronomy Department Manager, and keep them informed of operational, customer, vendor or employee issues.

Precisely blend and load fertilizer, agricultural chemicals and pesticides per recommendations and label directions.

Verify quantity, quality and package integrity of inbound inventory; record deviations from the bill of lading.

Monitor and maintain seasonal product inventories, ensuring timely paperwork from purchase order to delivery and invoicing; perform regular counts and reconciliations (monthly & annually) and submit required inventory reports on time.

Coordinate day‑to‑day operations with the location manager and agronomy sales team to serve customers efficiently.

Maintain communication with the Grain Division on rail activities, logistics planning and relationship development with rail and motor carriers.

Maintain clean facilities and equipment in safe operating condition.

Maintain all OSHA or Key Cooperative safety‑related records using appropriate software.

Support and enforce policies and procedures that promote safety, employee attitudes, and safe driving.

Promote Key Cooperative’s products and services to customers, projecting a positive attitude and image at all times.
