Analyst, Space Planning D29K – The Home Depot
Reporting to the Manager, Space Planning, the Analyst works closely with the Senior Analyst to design, build and maintain merchandise planograms. The Analyst is responsible for ensuring planograms accurately reflect assortment decisions and are consistent with category strategy, visual merchandising standards and planogram optimization targets. The analyst is directly responsible for ensuring planograms meet high quality standards, are localized to each store, and can be executed without issues in the field.
The analyst will capture and build planograms in JDA Space Planning according to the merchandising strategy, visual merchandising recommendations and assortment clusters provided, ensuring that merchandising safety standards are adhered to. This role works directly with cross‑functional team members to address any issues related to the planogram building process. The analyst will analyze planograms for sales, profitability and inventory productivity, and make recommendations to optimize the planograms bearing in mind trade‑offs for customer experience, store labor efficiencies, merchandise strategy and visual considerations. The analyst will present, discuss alternatives and make final planogram recommendations to the Space Planning and Merchandising teams.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and develop optimized space strategies working closely with merchandising, visual team, and inventory planning (60%). Translate assortments and strategies into store‑specific planograms based on fixture needs, meeting THD merchandising standards and safety requirements.
Analyze planograms and make recommendations to improve functionality and financial performance (15%).
Attend weekly meetings with cross‑functional teams to contribute to strategic merchandising plans (10%).
Capture bays, conduct space diagnostics and analyze planograms based on sales, profitability and inventory productivity (10%).
Address deficiencies from pre‑walks or execution in a timely manner, supporting other tasks as needed (5%).

Travel Requirements
Requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
Mostly seated; occasional need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions
Located in a comfortable indoor area; occasional mild conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Experience with JDA Intactix space management suite (Space Planning, IKB, Planogram Generator, Space Automation).
Experience working in the retail industry.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job.
