seeks a candidate to lead strategic initiatives that enhance the educational experience of medical students. The role focuses on academic success, personal well?being, and professional growth, and reports to the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education. The position requires approx. 80% effort, with the remaining time allocated based on the selected candidates clinical or academic interests. Responsibilities Oversee academic advising, medical student wellness, financial literacy programs, student organizations, events, and the learning environment. Collaborate with university services including student health, counseling, psychological services, and accommodations at the Charleston and AnMed campuses. Lead and manage the Office of Student Affairs, supervise staff, oversee the budget, and develop school policies. Participate in LCME accreditation activities and maintain compliance with standards related to student affairs and the learning environment. Represent the medical school on key committees and in national organizations related to student affairs. Collaborate with the COM career advising team and other campus units to support student success and career development.
Qualifications
MD, DO, PhD, EdD, or equivalent terminal degree; board certification preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in medical education, student affairs, or academic leadership. Demonstrated experience developing and managing programs that support medical student development. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
