Viridian Staffing
This range is provided by Viridian Staffing. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Viridian Staffing's Client is looking for a confident Sales Account Executive to help drive sales for a fast-paced cannabis genetics & cultivation company. Ideally, this position is based in California (North Bay/Petaluma area preferred) or Colorado, but for the right person our Client will consider strong candidates anywhere in the US.
Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing (www.viridianstaffing.com) is the Original Talent Acquisition & Talent Management Firm solely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical, and industrial cannabis / hemp industry.
What you’ll do
Own the full revenue engine: build and run a structured sales program (targeting, outreach, sequencing, pipeline hygiene, forecasting) to reach licensed cultivators, MSOs, and strategic partners across the US and Canada.
Manage and grow an existing book of business while opening net‑new accounts; expect a healthy mix of expansion and hunting.
Stand up core sales infrastructure (CRM, reporting cadence, dashboards) and drive disciplined follow‑up.
Engage growers consultatively — speak the language of agriculture, understand cultivation workflows, and translate genetics/cultivation value into ROI.
Create high‑impact sales assets with the founders (case studies, field footage, testimonials) and leverage them in campaigns and at trade shows.
Travel for farm visits and selective events; plan on periodic trips to California plus additional travel for key shows and customer meetings.
Support measured international expansion.
What makes you a fit
3+ years of B2B sales success (agriculture, ag‑tech, seeds/genetics, equipment, or adjacent CPG/manufacturing); you’ve owned seven‑figure annual quotas and hit them.
Builder mentality: you’ve implemented or overhauled CRM and sales ops from scratch and can run a tight forecasting rhythm.
Agriculture fluency: comfortable discussing cultivation basics (e.g., bed/row spacing, plant training concepts, common tillage implements) and learning cannabis specifics quickly; you can bridge “farm speak” and executive ROI.
Relentlessly self‑directed in low‑structure environments; you push for clarity, resources, and results without hand‑holding.
Prospecting machine: cold calling, targeted email, and multi‑threading into complex accounts (including MSOs).
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills; excellent written skills and executive presence.
Tools: Proficiency with modern CRM, Google Workspace/Microsoft 365; data‑literate in Sheets/Excel.
Nice to have
Based in California or Colorado; prior cannabis industry experience helpful but not required.
Familiarity with multi‑state regulatory variability and operating with sound judgment in nuanced environments.
Experience selling into cultivation operations and/or working closely with growers and farm managers.
Compensation
Base Salary Range: $100K-$120K + Commission uncapped.
