Overview The Field Engineer supports solar construction project delivery and assists with logistics, inspections, tool management, drawing review, and superintendent support. This onsite role requires an agile, proactive approach to support project personnel and craft trades, ensuring technical, material, and administrative tasks align with Qcells USA project delivery standards.
Responsibilities
Work directly with the Site Solar Superintendent and project managers to help implement project goals.
Assist with assigning duties to staff to implement project goals as needed.
Oversee variable aspects of projects and provide direct assistance to ensure timely project execution and assist in planning, coordinating and managing.
Review project goals and ensure they are achievable.
Coordinate with Construction Manager, project manager and other project leads following project execution.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure construction teams have the materials they need.
Communicate delays and issues to leadership and clients as required.
Complete tasks assigned by the Regional Manager in an efficient and timely manner.
Identify safety concerns and prevention measures.
Create and maintain project task schedules and a 3-week look-ahead.
Attend weekly project meetings; discuss change events and staff/subcontractor performance.
Perform quality control inspections, documentations, and electronic submittals; manage safety documentation and submittals.
Oversee crew management, maintenance of crew production schedules, and lead toolbox talks; ensure compliance with Job Hazard Analysis and Site-Specific Safety Plan.
Identify punch lists and observations from the previous week; ensure closeout docs and QA/QC checklists are completed.
Perform other assignments and special projects as requested by Management; maintain regular attendance as required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
Proficiency with computer systems (Microsoft Suite).
Ability to work collaboratively to ensure successful project execution.
Working knowledge of necessary industry-related tools.
Ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for efficient project execution.
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and be proactive; follow directions and take initiative when required.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Familiarity with project management software is a plus (e.g., Procore).
Physical Demands
Able to climb and balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways.
Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at elevated heights or in confined spaces.
Able to walk or move continuously while carrying up to 50 lbs of tools/materials; assistive help recommended for heavier items.
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods and work extended hours on uneven surfaces.
Work Environment
Regular professional, office-style settings and construction sites with varying noise levels.
Potential transition to onsite or hybrid arrangements as determined by business needs.
Location

Uneven ground, obstructed pathways, work at various elevations, and confined spaces.
Climate/Environment
