About the Role PADCOM Design & Construction Management Services is seeking an experienced
Cost Estimator V
to support the Terminal Development Improvement Program (TDIP) at Los Angeles International Airport. This position requires deep expertise in large-scale aviation projects, progressive design-build delivery, and cost estimating for complex infrastructure programs.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading estimating teams, reviewing contractor proposals, performing reconciliations, and providing reliable cost analysis for multi-million-dollar construction programs.
Key Responsibilities Develop conceptual and detailed cost estimates for various scopes of work.
Direct and manage estimating teams; train and mentor subordinate estimators.
Review construction and design cost proposals, change order requests, and assist in determining merit.
Review labor rates and markups for conformance with contract specifications.
Evaluate quantities and labor productivity to ensure fair and reasonable representation of scope.
Validate material pricing using R.S. Means or comparable references.
Review contract documents and modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowances for scope changes.
Establish the basis for the owner’s acceptance or rejection of proposals and maintain negotiation records.
Reconcile contractor, internal, and third-party estimates.
Maintain a routine reporting cycle that clearly communicates estimate changes and rationale.
Accumulate, evaluate, and document historical cost data to support future estimates.
Coordinate with project management and other estimating resources during estimate development.
Ensure all estimates and related work products are accurate, reliable, and complete.
Skills & Knowledge Demonstrated proficiency in multiple estimating formats and tools.
Strong knowledge of industry-standard estimating software, databases, and cost resources.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Self-starter with a results-driven approach.
Proven ability to lead complex estimate reconciliations and manage change order negotiations.
Education & Experience Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum
20 years of general estimating experience , preferably on large-scale aviation or infrastructure projects.
Preferred Knowledge:
Progressive Design-Build and CMAR delivery experience.
Additional Requirements May be required to work beyond regular hours or adjust shifts as needed.
Must be available for full-time onsite work, Monday through Friday.
Salary & Benefits Salary Range:
$220,000 – $224,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
