Title: Designer – Apparel
Location: Manhattan, NY 10038
Duration: Contract (no guaranteed extension or conversion to full-time)
Job Type: Hybrid (New York City office; remote work possible with occasional in-office attendance)
Description The Designer will create commercially viable product designs for specific categories/collections, delivering brand‑right designs that align with overall concept and business strategy.
Responsibilities include producing sketches, coloring lines, creating detailed tech packs, executing prototypes, updating linesheets, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams (Merchandising, Marketing, Product Development, Color & Print, PD, Graphics).
The role requires strong fashion sense, technical knowledge of apparel construction, fit, and fabrics, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Typical Day / Workload
Sketching and coloring on Illustrator/ InDesign
Creating and updating tech packs with construction and finishing details
Updating linesheets and BOMs in Centric
Collaborating with team members and leadership on design execution
Must-Have Skills
Strong Illustrator sketching skills with speed
Coloring and line management in Illustrator
Apparel construction knowledge and tech pack creation
Multi-tasking ability and efficiency under tight deadlines
Experience with InDesign and Adobe Creative SuiteExperience with Centric is a plus
Additional Notes Department focus: Assisting with sketching, coloring, and tech packs for apparel lines
