Job Description
As the UCLA Health Faculty Practice Group (FPG) Public Relations (PR) Manager, you’ll play a key role in advancing the visibility, reputation, and engagement of the department. Working in close collaboration with FPG leadership, Marketing, and executive teams, you’ll develop and lead communication strategies that highlight the innovation, compassion, and excellence driving the UCLA Health FPG.
The PR Manager will also oversee the creation of compelling content, including communication collateral and internal communications that highlight FPG initiatives and achievements. This position serves as a key point of contact for inquiries related to FPG activities and ensures alignment with UCLA Health brand standards and institutional priorities. A key component of this position will include managing public relations activities for UCLA Health’s “Medically Speaking” podcast and related media products. The PR Manager will collaborate with the podcast host, producer, and marketing team to maximize visibility, grow audience engagement, and ensure alignment with FPG priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive PR strategy to promote FPG initiatives, achievements, and priorities
Draft, edit, and distribute communication releases, media advisories, op-eds, and feature articles in collaboration with executive leadership and related departments
Partner with the podcast host, producer, and marketing team to develop media campaigns that promote podcast episodes, special guests, and series launches
Create press kits, pitch media coverage, and coordinate earned media opportunities for the podcast
Leverage social media channels and internal communications to grow podcast audience and engagement
Track and report podcast-specific key performance indicators (KPIs), including listenership, downloads, and audience sentiment
Create and maintain messaging documents, FAQs, talking points, and leadership quotes for external and internal use
Support executive communications, including leadership announcements, speeches, and presentations
Collaborate with operational teams to highlight initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and community engagement
Establish and track KPIs to measure PR campaign effectiveness, including media impressions, sentiment analysis, and engagement
Prepare reports and presentations for FPG executive leadership, Marketing departments, and governance committees
Provide recommendations based on results to continuously improve PR efforts
Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range $95,400 - $208,300 annually
