Overview
Telecommunications Mechanic I (RWR-2025-23228):
Bowhead seeks to network with Telecommunications Mechanic I for an upcoming proposal effort to support communications upgrades at McConnell AFB.
Responsibilities Essential functions will include:
Pull, route, and secure Cat-6 cabling per direction of senior technicians.
Assist with termination, labeling, and dressing of cabling into racks and panels.
Perform material handling and site preparation tasks.
Support installation of faceplates, patch cords, and basic grounding.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Years of experience
1–2 years of general cable installation or hands‑on technical labor.
Required skills or certifications
Basic knowledge of TIA color codes and structured cabling.
Ability to use hand tools and follow safety guidelines.
Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
Willingness to work in secure environments with proper base access procedures.
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
