Antenna Systems Engineer, Antenna Calibration, Kuiper
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Responsibilities
Designing and implementing phased array calibration systems, signals, processing and algorithms
Performance analysis and design trade‑off studies of phased arrays
End‑to‑end modeling, simulation and analysis of baseband/RF/antenna systems
Lab measurement and validation of performance of antennas, and phased array systems and subsystems
Working with antenna, modem, RF and Digital teams to simulate, measure and fine‑tune radio designs
Export Control Requirement Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl
BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
Experience in DSP techniques, digital modulation, radio architecture, line‑up analysis, RF system design
Experience with lab test equipment like VSAs, VSGs, VNAs and Oscilloscopes
Coding and scripting skills with demonstrated experience in Matlab/Python/C++
Experience with simulation tools such as SystemVue, ADS or LabView
Preferred Qualifications
MS in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of work experience or PhD with 2+ years of experience
Experience working with phased arrays, calibration and antenna measurement
Experience with one of the mainstream antenna simulation tools (CST/HFSS)
Good understanding of modern wireless technologies (OFDM/MIMO) and medium access procedures
Familiarity with basics of probability and estimation theory

Compensation: The base pay for this position ranges from $89,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
