The Accelerator Internal Funding Program is a program within the Technology Innovation and Development Office (TIDO) dedicated to transforming high‑impact academic technologies into validated, later‑stage opportunities sought by industry partners and investors. The program provides access to early‑to‑later‑stage funds, advisors and mentors with product discovery and development expertise, a network of contract research organizations, project management at industry standards and business development network and expertise. Technologies supported by the program range from therapeutics and devices to diagnostics and vaccines in both pediatric and adult indications. In collaboration with the Accelerator’s Scientific Project Manager, the Program Coordinator runs activities and functions of the program to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limits, and funding constraints. The Program Coordinator reports to the Accelerator’s Senior Director. Key Responsibilities
Coordinate activities and daily operations of the Accelerator Internal Funding Program, providing faculty and researchers with information about facilities, services, and activities inside and outside the hospital, and assisting inventors with proposal preparation for funding and/or continuation. Consult with staff and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, and answers to questions throughout the development of funded projects. Prepare periodic reports and records on program activities, progress, status, and other special reports for management or external agencies. Assist in evaluating program effectiveness, reviewing applications or documents independently or with supervisors, and developing improved methods and funding recommendations. Produce written communication and promotional literature related to portfolio projects and the Accelerator. Plan workshops, meetings, or conferences; coordinate logistics, scheduling, and participant communications; and maintain liaison with staff, faculty, and external stakeholders. Generate, update, and maintain program databases and metrics to monitor performance. Minimum Requirements
Education Bachelors Degree in Administration, Life Sciences or other relevant area preferred. Experience
1–3 years in the life science sector. Experience and understanding of academic research, academic medical centers, and the life science and medical device industries. Strong communication skills and empathy in difficult interpersonal situations. Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies. Team player able to function independently with minimal supervision in a highly complex environment. Strong organizational, time, and project management skills; attention to detail; problem‑solving skills; and ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
