Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Investment Banking Associate to join our Technology sector coverage team in McLean, VA. This role is ideal for candidates who have already spent at least 6 months at the Associate level in investment banking and are looking to deepen their expertise in the fast‑paced and dynamic tech landscape. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, deal execution experience, and a passion for working with innovative companies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support execution of M&A transactions, IPOs, and other capital markets activities within the technology sector.
Conduct detailed financial modeling, valuation analyses (DCF, LBO, precedent transactions, comps), and strategic assessments.
Prepare client presentations, pitch books, and other marketing materials.
Coordinate due diligence processes and manage transaction timelines.
Interface directly with clients, senior bankers, and other stakeholders.
Mentor and guide Analysts, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and professional development.
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics.
Qualifications
Minimum 6+ months of experience at the Associate level in investment banking.
Bachelor’s degree from a top‑tier institution; MBA graduates will not be considered for this role.
Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation techniques, and transaction structuring.
Demonstrated experience in deal execution, preferably in the technology sector.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Preferred Attributes
Prior exposure to technology clients or transactions.
Experience with software, SaaS, fintech, or emerging tech verticals.
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
