Private Equity Fund Accounting Director
to lead a high‑performing team responsible for closed‑end fund operations, NAV oversight, and financial reporting. This is a leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑moving environment and wants to directly impact client success and team growth. What You’ll Do
Oversee all aspects of private equity fund accounting and reporting, including NAV calculations, financial statements, fee accruals, and P&L allocations. Lead and develop a team of fund accountants (typically up to 10), fostering an environment of accountability, learning, and performance. Manage capital activity (calls, distributions) and ensure accurate maintenance of waterfalls and investor allocations. Drive client relationship management—acting as a key contact for CFOs, controllers, and external auditors. Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely completion of all deliverables. Review, refine, and enhance internal workflows to improve quality, control, and efficiency. Collaborate cross‑functionally with onboarding, operations, and technology teams to streamline client transitions and reporting processes. What We’re Looking For
10+ years
of progressive experience in private equity or hedge fund accounting, with
3+ years
in a leadership or supervisory role. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or similar certification a plus). Deep understanding of fund structures, waterfalls, and performance reporting (IRRs, MOICs, etc.). Strong analytical mindset and advanced Excel skills; experience with
Investran
or other fund accounting platforms preferred. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to build trust and credibility. A collaborative leader who can motivate teams and influence across departments. Seniority Level
