The PayPal Legal Team is looking for an experienced attorney to join its AI legal team to help drive responsible, innovative AI development. In this role you will analyze emerging regulations around AI, proactively manage legal risk, and partner with cross‑functional teams—product, engineering, compliance—to provide guidance on design, deployment and governance of AI systems. Essential Responsibilities

Lead complex projects of diverse scope, driving legal initiatives that support business growth and innovation. Participate in complex problem resolution, providing expert legal advice on high‑stakes issues and disputes. Provide expert legal advice and support in areas such as compliance, data privacy, and litigation support. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, advising on the implementation of new legal technologies and automation tools. Manage legal risks and safeguard PayPal’s legal interests, developing comprehensive risk management frameworks. Represent PayPal in litigation and other legal proceedings, leading case strategies and ensuring effective representation. Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience. Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree. Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience advising on legal issues related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, or algorithmic decision‑making systems. At least 5 years of experience providing product counseling, particularly in areas involving data use, automation, or machine learning in a fast‑paced, global business setting. Strong working knowledge of U.S. and international legal, regulatory, and ethical frameworks related to artificial intelligence. Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable legal guidance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative mindset. Comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving environment with shifting priorities and cross‑functional teams. Demonstrated interest in PayPal, digital finance, and the broader payments ecosystem. Actual compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to location, skills and experience. The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $152,500 to $262,350, with additional incentive compensation, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Benefits
